Well, all the baby clothes are put away, a new load of cloth diapers has been started and we’ve taken our temperature at least 1,000 times with the temporal arterial thermometer. Now that I don’t have the baby shower to focus on, I actually have to think about bringing a new life into this world. *Sigh*
The Baby Shower went wonderfully and I am eternally grateful to sisters (with some help from my mother and father!) for throwing me one. They truly outdid themselves and I think that all those in attendance had a great time. There was grilled squash, yummy quiche and pumpkin cheesecake. I love Autumn food! The invites had a hand drawn illustration (by my brother-in-law, Tracy!) of two birds waiting for an egg to hatch and so the theme of birds was continued throughout the shower. Everything was so cute and I wish I had time to take more pictures but the whole night just went by so quickly!
The shower was everything and more I thought it would be and Jackson is going to be the luckiest boy in the world to be loved already by so many.
Next stop…birthing room. Eek!

1. I’m horrible at mimicking accents. Doesn’t matter if it’s German, British or whatever…I totally suck at accents. Except for dolphin noises. I can do a mean dolphin cry…does that count?
2. I’m a big crybaby. All the women in my family are. And now that I’m pregnant and all…even worse.
3. Peppermint makes me sneeze repeatedly. A stong breath mint can set me off for minutes.
4. I went to Catholic schools all my life and somehow came out the other end, non-religious.
5. I hate having my feet dirty. The rest of me could resemble Pig Pen for all I care as long as my feet are sparkling.
6. My morning commute is comprised of a Klean Kanteen in one hand, a cellphone in my pocket, two dogs by my feet and a 15 second walk to the studio in my back yard. (baby in tow to be added soon!)
7. My number one worry about bringing Jackson into this world (after the labor pains, of course!) is that I will drop him! Seriously, I worry about these things.

how sweet! look at that great baby bump!! so excited for you.
It’s slowly but surely coming along! :D
How funny! I can do the dolphin thing too. When I was younger I was entranced by Flipper and spent every episode trying to get my dolphin speak down!
Cute Shoes! Thats funny I didn’t go to Catholic Schools and I came out on the other end.
Love you!
My husband is also a “recovering catholic” as we call it … haha. So glad you had a nice baby shower. Best wishes for an easy delivery … or at least an uneventful one! How much longer?
I’ve still got some time left, 31 weeks and counting!
This is one of my very favorite books! I tear up reading it to my almost five-year-old. When I found it in the bookstore, I had to stop reading so I wouldn’t cry!
Look at that belly! When are you due?
I’m so glad that I’m not the only one who cries with this book! I get all choked up when the serpent asks if he’ll be lonely!
I’m due at the end of Dec/early Jan. Eek, only a couple more months!
