Drafting Love

Heh, it’s Valentine’s Day and what am I beginning this post with? My new dining room table. Go figure, we’re not much into v-day anyway. And considering how hard it was to find…you’d understand why we’re all giddy about our table over here.

It’s actually two parts, the base is an old drafting table and since the existing table top was too small, we had a local carpenter make another one for us. We maybe were a bit too ambitious and made the table obnoxiously large but we really wanted to fit in as many people at the table as possible. Hopefully the room can handle it!

Unfortunately, the table is too high to fit conventional chairs. So we either have to get 8 chairs custom made or raise it up a bit to fit counter-height chairs. Lucky for us it’s a drafting table and can easily be raised! :D

Now to work on cleaning the floors, ouch…it’s amazing what you see in pictures that you don’t see day to day!
